Youth Professor at Beijing Language and Culture University, China

Qingchao Xu, Ph.D., is a Wutong Youth Professor at Beijing Language and Culture University, with over a decade of experience in Arctic research. Her work spans Arctic energy, security, geopolitics, governance, China-Arctic relations, the Polar Silk Road, and Arctic sustainability. She has published widely and has monographs forthcoming. Dr. Xu has held positions at leading institutions including the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, and the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy. She was a visiting scholar at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and studied at Kyushu University in Japan during her Ph.D. studies. Earlier in her career, she worked at the State Council Information Office and as a journalist for Chinese Social Sciences Today, under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
